Anthurium Burgundy Coral – Burgundy
Plant description
Anthurium ‘Burgundy Coral’ is a live flowering houseplant with deep burgundy-red spathes and pale spadices, paired with glossy, heart-shaped green leaves. It comes as a complete set in a ribbed ceramic pot with a shiny glaze and rounded silhouette. Delivered at an approximate total height of 40 cm, it is sized for shelves, sideboards, and dining tables where you want colour without a large footprint.
The Anthurium’s flowers are often mistaken for petals, but they are durable bracts (spathes) designed to last. In stable indoor conditions, blooms can hold for weeks, and the plant will continue to produce new stems over time. The upright, compact growth habit keeps the plant neat, making it a practical alternative to larger flowering plants that quickly outgrow their space.
The ceramic pot features a fine vertical rib structure that catches light quietly and adds texture without visual noise. The dark burgundy tone anchors the red blooms and works naturally with pale woods, stone surfaces, and muted textiles typical of Scandinavian interiors.
Plant care
- Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light, but flowering is strongest near an east- or west-facing window. Avoid harsh midday sun.
- Watering routine: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep lightly moist rather than wet, and empty any excess water so the roots don’t sit in moisture.
- Humidity preferences: Moderate to higher humidity. Normal home humidity is usually fine; group with other plants or use a pebble tray if the air is very dry. Avoid misting the flowers directly.
- Temperature range: 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below approximately 15°C.

Placement in the home
Place your Anthurium where it receives bright, filtered daylight: on a living room sideboard, a hallway console with natural light, or a dining table away from direct sun. It also works well on a kitchen shelf as long as it’s kept clear of hot radiators, cooking steam, and cold window drafts. If you notice fewer blooms, move it slightly closer to the window (still out of direct midday sun).
Care tips
Use room-temperature water and water evenly around the root ball. Anthuriums prefer consistent moisture, but they dislike standing water—good drainage and a steady rhythm matter more than frequent watering. Wipe the leaves with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and keep the foliage glossy. Remove spent blooms by cutting the stem near the base; this helps the plant direct energy into new growth. During spring and summer, a balanced houseplant fertiliser at half strength can support flowering.
