Phalaenopsis Orchid – Red, Silver Pot

Regular price €25,99

Plant description

Colibr Orchids Congo is a blooming Phalaenopsis orchid delivered in a compact decorative pot. The plant is recognised by its deep red flowers with a warm, slightly coral tone and a pale centre. At delivery it stands at approximately 35 cm tall and comes with 2–3 flowering stems (depending on current availability), supported by dark stakes for a clean, upright shape.

The orchid is set in the Elite pot with a subtle silver shine and a gently hammered texture that catches the light without looking glossy. With a pot size Ø9 cm, it fits easily on smaller surfaces while still reading as a finished arrangement—ideal when you want a flowering houseplant that looks considered, not cluttered.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. A spot near an east or north-facing window is ideal; avoid strong midday sun on the leaves and flowers.
  • Watering routine: Water about once a week. Remove the inner growing pot and soak it in lukewarm water for 5–10 minutes, then let it drain thoroughly before placing it back into the decorative pot.
  • Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity suits it well. If the air is very dry (common in winter), place it away from radiators and consider a shallow pebble tray nearby.
  • Temperature range: Best kept at 18–21°C. Avoid cold drafts, heat sources, and temperature swings.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Phalaenopsis orchid (Colibr Orchids “Congo”)
  • Approx. size at delivery: ±35 cm (including pot)
  • Flowers: Multiple blooms per stem; delivery includes 2–3 stems (natural variation may occur)
  • Foliage: Thick, glossy green leaves that store moisture—an indicator to water sparingly rather than often

Placement in the home

This Phalaenopsis works well where you spend time and can enjoy the flowers up close: on a dining table, a kitchen shelf away from direct sun, a hallway console, or a bedside chest. Choose a stable location with gentle daylight; frequent moving and cold drafts can shorten the flowering period. The Ø9 cm pot size also makes it a practical choice for smaller apartments and narrow windowsills.

Care tips

Drainage matters. The most common issue with orchids is water left standing around the roots. Always let the growing pot drain fully after soaking. If water collects in the decorative pot, empty it. For longer-lasting flowers, keep the plant away from fruit bowls (ripening fruit releases ethylene gas) and avoid placing it next to a stove or heater. After flowering, cut the stem above a node only if it remains green; if it turns brown, trim it at the base.
