Plant description
Colibr Orchids Phalaenopsis ‘Lausanne’ is a live white moth orchid (Phalaenopsis) with several flowering stems and a compact, upright habit. At delivery it measures approx. 40 cm in height and comes in a Ø12 cm nursery pot with a decorative printed sleeve, ready to place inside your own cachepot. The flowers are small, clean white with a soft yellow centre, balanced by firm, dark green leaves at the base.
Phalaenopsis orchids are valued for their long-lasting bloom period and calm expression. ‘Lausanne’ suits Scandinavian interiors where you want a clear, light accent without strong fragrance. The plant keeps a neat silhouette on shelves and sideboards, and the arching stems add height without taking up much surface space.

- Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. A spot near an east or north-facing window is ideal; avoid strong midday sun which can scorch leaves.
- Watering routine: Water sparingly when the growing medium is almost dry (often every 7–10 days, depending on season). Use lukewarm water and let excess water drain fully; do not leave the pot standing in water.
- Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity is sufficient (typical home levels). In very dry rooms, place nearby plants together or use a pebble tray to add gentle humidity.
- Temperature range: Comfortable indoor temperatures of 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and direct heat from radiators.

For a clean look, wipe the leaves occasionally with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. After flowering, you can extend the display by cutting the flower spike just above a visible node, or trim the stem down if it has fully finished and dried. Feed lightly with orchid fertiliser during the growing season (spring/summer), using a diluted mix to avoid salt build-up.
