Ficus Adora Exotica Ficus Benjamina – Green

Regular price €93,95

Ficus Adora / Exotica (Ficus benjamina) is a live indoor tree with dense, glossy green foliage and a softly braided trunk that gives the plant a clean, architectural shape. Supplied in a 27 cm nursery pot (P27) with an approximate height of around 120 cm at delivery, it’s sized for floors, corners and open shelves where you want greenery without taking over the room.

The leaf canopy is naturally fine-textured and slightly drooping, typical of Ficus benjamina, which helps the plant read calm and light even at a larger size. In Scandinavian interiors it works well as a single, grounded element—especially alongside pale woods, stone, linen and matte ceramics. Like many ficus varieties, it is also commonly chosen as an air‑purifying houseplant for everyday living spaces.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates medium light, but avoid deep shade for long periods. Protect from strong midday sun through glass.
  • Watering routine: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away—do not leave the pot standing in water.
  • Humidity preferences: Average indoor humidity is fine. Appreciates slightly higher humidity; occasional misting or a pebble tray can help in dry, heated rooms.
  • Temperature range: 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Ficus benjamina (often sold as Adora/Exotica)
  • Approx. size at delivery: P27 pot, approx. H120 cm (living plant; shape and height can vary slightly)
  • Leaf type: Small to medium, glossy leaves forming a dense crown
  • Growth speed: Moderate in spring and summer under good light

Placement in the home

Place your ficus where it receives steady daylight without harsh sun—near an east or west-facing window is often ideal. It suits a living room corner, next to a sideboard, or in a home office where the foliage softens hard lines. Ficus prefers stability, so try to avoid frequently moving it between rooms; consistent light and temperature help prevent leaf drop.

Care tips

Use well-draining soil (a houseplant mix with added perlite works well) and a pot with drainage when you repot. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2–4 weeks from early spring to late summer, then reduce in winter. Wipe leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to remove dust and support photosynthesis. If the plant drops leaves after moving, don’t panic—this is common for ficus. Keep conditions stable and new growth usually follows.
