Ficus Benjamina Danielle Weeping Fig – Green

Regular price €42,95

Ficus benjamina ‘Danielle’ (also known as the weeping fig) is a classic indoor tree with small, pointed, glossy green leaves and a naturally light, airy canopy. This plant is delivered at an approximate height of 95 cm in a Ø21 cm grow pot. A discreet support stake helps the main stem stay upright as it settles into your home.

With its fine foliage and calm silhouette, Ficus benjamina suits Scandinavian interiors where you want greenery that feels structured rather than wild. It works well as a medium-sized floor plant, adding volume without taking over the room. Like most ficus varieties, it can react to changes in light and temperature, so a stable placement is key for an even, healthy look.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light, but growth will slow. Avoid harsh midday sun that can scorch leaves.
  • Watering routine: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away. Reduce watering in winter.
  • Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity. Appreciates occasional misting or a wipe-down of leaves, especially in dry indoor air.
  • Temperature range: Typical indoor temperatures 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts, heat vents, and sudden temperature drops.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Ficus benjamina ‘Danielle’
  • Approx. size at delivery: ↕95 cm, pot size Ø21 cm
  • Foliage: Small, tapered leaves with a smooth, lightly glossy surface; dense branching over time
  • Growth speed: Moderate in the growing season with steady light and regular watering

Placement in the home

Place your weeping fig in a bright living room corner, near (but not pressed against) a window, or beside a sofa where it receives filtered daylight. In a home office, it’s ideal a few metres from a bright window to avoid direct sun while still supporting healthy growth. Avoid hallways with frequent drafts and areas near exterior doors—ficus plants often respond to moving air by dropping a few leaves.

Care tips

Turn the plant a quarter turn every week or two to encourage balanced growth and prevent it from leaning toward the light. If you notice leaf drop after delivery or after moving it, give it time—ficus commonly sheds some leaves while adjusting to a new environment. Feed with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser monthly during spring and summer; in winter, reduce to every 6–8 weeks or pause if growth slows. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and help the plant photosynthesise efficiently.
