Ficus Benjamina Danita Weeping Fig – Green

Regular price €71,85

Ficus benjamina ‘Danita’ (often called weeping fig) is a compact indoor tree with glossy, deep green leaves and a naturally airy, upright form. Delivered at approximately 70 cm tall in a Ø17 cm grower’s pot, it brings calm greenery to modern homes and workspaces without demanding constant attention.

The ‘Danita’ cultivar is valued for its neat growth and fine branching. The narrow, slightly pointed leaves sit lightly along the stems, creating a soft, layered silhouette that works well in Scandinavian interiors where structure and restraint matter. As with most ficus, it prefers a stable spot and consistent care—once settled, it keeps its shape well and responds nicely to gentle pruning.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal. It also tolerates medium light, but growth will slow. Avoid harsh midday sun close to the glass.
  • Watering routine: Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil feels dry. In practice this is often weekly in brighter months and less in winter. Let excess water drain away; do not leave the pot standing in water.
  • Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity suits it well. If indoor air is very dry (especially in winter), occasional misting or a pebble tray can help keep foliage looking fresh.
  • Temperature range: Normal indoor temperatures of 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts, radiators, and sudden temperature changes.

Placement in the home

Place your ficus where it gets steady daylight—near an east- or west-facing window is often a good balance. It works well on the floor beside a sofa, in a bright hallway corner, or in an office where you want greenery with a clean outline. If you move it, do so gradually; ficus can respond to big changes in light or temperature by dropping a few leaves.

Care tips

Use well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes; a standard houseplant mix with added perlite is a practical choice. Feed every 2–3 months during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser, diluted as instructed. Rotate the plant every couple of weeks for even growth, and wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and support photosynthesis. If the plant drops leaves after arrival, it’s usually adjusting—keep care steady and avoid overwatering.

Note: Ficus sap can irritate skin and the plant is considered toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
