Ficus Benjamina Twilight – Green, Cream

Regular price €227,85

Plant description

Ficus benjamina ‘Twilight’ is a variegated weeping fig with small, pointed leaves in fresh green edged with creamy white. Delivered at an approximate height of 95 cm in a Ø21 cm pot, this indoor tree has a light, layered silhouette and is trained along a support stake to help it grow upright and evenly. The set includes the Mayk pot in Lead, a calm, dark-toned planter that keeps the overall look clean and architectural.

The ‘Twilight’ variety is chosen for its bright leaf pattern and airy structure, offering greenery without feeling heavy in the room. Like most ficus, it prefers a stable spot and rewards consistent care with dense, healthy foliage. It is also widely appreciated as an air-purifying houseplant, contributing to a more comfortable indoor climate in everyday living spaces.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates medium light, but growth will slow. Avoid harsh, direct midday sun to prevent leaf scorch.
  • Watering routine: Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the root ball lightly moist, not wet. Reduce watering in winter.
  • Humidity preferences: Normal indoor humidity is fine. A little extra humidity helps keep the leaf edges neat—especially in heated rooms.
  • Temperature range: Best between 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Ficus benjamina ‘Twilight’ (weeping fig)
  • Approx. size at delivery: ↨95 cm, pot Ø21 cm
  • Leaf type: Small, glossy leaves with cream-variegated margins; naturally slightly drooping branches
  • Growth speed: Moderate with steady light and regular watering; can be kept compact with pruning

Placement in the home

Place this ficus where it gets consistent daylight—near an east- or west-facing window is often ideal. In a living room corner, beside a sideboard, or in a bright hallway, its narrow, upright form adds height without taking much floor space. Avoid placing it next to radiators, exterior doors, or frequently opened windows; ficus plants dislike sudden temperature changes and drafts.

Care tips

Keep it stable: Ficus benjamina can drop some leaves when moved. Choose a spot and let it settle. Rotate the pot a quarter turn every few weeks for even growth.

Feed lightly: Use a balanced houseplant fertiliser about once a month during spring and summer. In winter, feed less often (around every 6–8 weeks) or pause if growth slows.

Prune and tidy: Trim long shoots to maintain shape and encourage branching. Wipe leaves with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and help the plant photosynthesise efficiently.

Common concerns: Yellowing leaves often point to overwatering; crisp edges can indicate very dry air or inconsistent watering. Always check the soil before adding more water.
