Ficus Microcarpa Moclame – Green, Basket
Plant description
Ficus microcarpa ‘Moclame’ is an evergreen indoor ficus with glossy, oval leaves and a naturally calm, upright growth habit. This plant is delivered at an approximate height of 95 cm in a Ø21 cm grow pot, placed inside the included Selin woven basket for a clean, finished look. A discreet support stake helps the stems grow straight and stable as the plant matures.
The ‘Moclame’ is valued for its dense, fresh-green foliage and tidy silhouette—ideal if you want a fuller look without the wide spread of some other ficus varieties. New leaves emerge lighter and deepen in colour as they harden off, creating subtle variation that looks natural in Scandinavian interiors.
Plant care
- Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is best. Tolerates medium light, but growth will slow. Avoid strong midday sun on the leaves.
- Watering routine: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. In practice this is often around once a week in spring/summer, less in winter. Let excess water drain away.
- Humidity preferences: Average indoor humidity is suitable. If the air is very dry, occasional misting or placing the pot on a pebble tray can help keep leaf edges neat.
- Temperature range: Prefers stable indoor temperatures, ideally 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and heat sources such as radiators.

Placement in the home
Place this ficus where it gets steady daylight without harsh sun—near an east- or west-facing window, or a little back from a bright south-facing window. Its vertical form works well beside a sofa, in a hallway corner that receives natural light, or as greenery next to a desk. For the most balanced shape, rotate the plant a quarter turn every couple of weeks.
Care tips
Ficus can react to changes in light, temperature, or drafts by dropping a few leaves—this is normal during the first weeks after delivery or after moving it. Keep the routine consistent and avoid overwatering. Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser monthly during the growing season (spring to early autumn), then reduce to every 6–8 weeks in winter. Wipe the leaves with a soft, damp cloth to keep the surface clean and support photosynthesis.
