Crassula Tarantula Succulent – Grey-Green

Regular price €6,99

Crassula ‘Tarantula’ is a compact succulent with dense, grey-green leaves covered in a fine, velvety texture. Delivered in a Ø6 cm nursery pot, it’s an easy-to-place houseplant for shelves, desks, windowsills, and small styling trays—ideal when you want a calm touch of greenery without a demanding care routine.

The plant grows in a low, clustered form with slightly elongated, fleshy leaves that feel soft to the touch. This matte, almost silvery surface is typical of many drought-tolerant succulents and helps the plant cope with bright light and dry indoor air. In a Scandinavian interior it reads as quiet and graphic: a small, structured plant with a subtle colour shift rather than glossy shine.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright light is best. A spot by an east or west-facing window is ideal. It can handle a few hours of gentle direct sun; avoid harsh midday summer sun right behind glass until the plant is acclimatised.
  • Watering routine: Water sparingly. Let the potting mix dry out completely between waterings, then water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. In winter, water less often.
  • Humidity preferences: Low to moderate humidity suits it well. No misting needed; good airflow helps keep the foliage tidy.
  • Temperature range: Typical indoor temperatures of 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below ~12°C.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Crassula (cultivar: ‘Tarantula’)
  • Approximate size at delivery: Supplied in a Ø6 cm grower pot; plant height is compact and proportionate to the pot size.
  • Leaf type: Fleshy, velvety, grey-green leaves in tight rosettes/clusters
  • Growth speed: Slow to moderate, depending on light levels and season

Placement in the home

Place Crassula ‘Tarantula’ where you naturally get the most daylight—on a kitchen windowsill, a bedside table near a bright window, or a home-office desk. Because it stays small and tidy, it works well in groups with other mini succulents or as a single accent in a small ceramic cachepot. If you use an outer pot, choose one with space for airflow and always avoid standing water at the bottom.

Care tips

  • Use free-draining soil: A cactus/succulent mix helps prevent overwatering issues.
  • Watering check: Lift the pot—if it feels light and the soil is dry throughout, it’s time to water.
  • Rotate occasionally: Turn the pot every couple of weeks for even growth towards the light.
  • Keep foliage clean: Dust lightly with a soft, dry brush rather than wiping with a wet cloth, which can mark fuzzy leaves.
