Phalaenopsis Moth Orchid – Orange, Ceramic Pot

Regular price €27,99

Plant description

This orange Phalaenopsis orchid (often called a moth orchid) is a flowering indoor plant delivered with a compact Ø9 cm pot and an approximate height of 35 cm. The plant is presented in a ceramic Safari decorative pot with a warm, mineral-toned glaze and a subtle speckled pattern—an easy match for calm, Scandinavian interiors. Expect 2–3 flower spikes depending on availability, with buds that open gradually for a longer flowering period.

The flowers have a clear orange tone with a soft sheen, set on dark, slender stems. At the base, firm green leaves form a low, tidy rosette. This is a good choice if you want a flowering houseplant that stays visually lightweight on a windowsill, shelf, or small side table, while still offering colour and structure.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. A spot near an east- or west-facing window is ideal; avoid strong midday sun on the leaves and flowers.
  • Watering routine: Water about once a week by soaking the inner grow pot for 5–10 minutes, then let it drain fully before placing it back into the ceramic pot. Water less in winter and always avoid leaving water in the bottom.
  • Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity suits it well. If the air is very dry, place it away from radiators and consider occasional misting around the plant (not directly into the flowers) or using a pebble tray.
  • Temperature range: Comfortable at typical indoor temperatures, roughly 18–26°C. Keep it away from cold drafts and direct heat sources.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Phalaenopsis (moth orchid)
  • Approximate size at delivery: Around 35 cm tall, pot size Ø9 cm
  • Flowering: Orange blooms on 2–3 spikes; buds open in sequence for a longer display
  • Growth habit: Compact, upright flower stems with broad, evergreen leaves

Placement in the home

Place the orchid where it gets steady daylight without harsh sun—on a kitchen windowsill with filtered light, a bright shelf in the living room, or a bedside table away from radiators. The small footprint makes it suitable for narrow surfaces such as a hallway console or a desk. If you want the flowers to last, prioritise stable temperatures and avoid moving the plant frequently.

Care tips

  • Drainage matters: After soaking, allow the pot to drain completely. Standing water is the most common reason orchids decline.
  • After flowering: When the last flowers fade, you can trim the spike above a node to encourage a possible re-bloom, or cut the spike down if it turns brown and dry.
  • Feeding: Use an orchid fertiliser at a low dose every 2–4 weeks during active growth and flowering.
  • Keep leaves clean: Wipe leaves gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and help the plant photosynthesise efficiently.
