Echeveria Miranda Succulent – Green
Plant description
Echeveria ‘Miranda’ is a compact succulent with thick, fleshy leaves that grow in a neat rosette. This green houseplant is delivered at an approximate height of 20 cm in a grower’s pot with a diameter of Ø12 cm. Its structured form makes it an easy choice for calm interiors where you want greenery without a lot of daily care.
The plant’s leaves are firm and slightly pointed, layered tightly from the centre outward. Like most echeverias, it stores water in its foliage, which is why it tolerates an occasional missed watering better than many common indoor plants. The simple silhouette works well in Scandinavian spaces—clean lines on a windowsill, a small table, or grouped with other succulents for a quiet, architectural look.
Plant care
- Light requirements: Bright light is best. Place near a window with plenty of daylight; gentle morning or late afternoon sun is usually fine. Avoid harsh midday sun through glass if the leaves start to fade or show dry spots.
- Watering routine: Water sparingly. Let the potting soil dry out completely between waterings—typically every 2–3 weeks, and less in winter. Water the soil, not the rosette, and pour off excess water so the roots don’t sit wet.
- Humidity preferences: Prefers normal to dry indoor air. No misting needed; good airflow helps keep the rosette healthy.
- Temperature range: Best at typical indoor temperatures, around 18–26°C. Keep above 10°C and away from cold drafts.
Growth and characteristics
- Plant species: Echeveria ‘Miranda’ (succulent)
- Mature height: Usually remains compact indoors; may slowly broaden as the rosette grows and can produce offsets over time
- Leaf type: Thick, water-storing leaves in a symmetrical rosette
- Growth speed: Slow to moderate under bright light
Placement in the home
For best results, choose a bright spot such as a living room windowsill, a kitchen window with good daylight, or a light shelf near a south- or west-facing window (with some protection from intense midday sun). Echeveria is also a practical choice for home offices—its compact size suits desks and small side tables, and it won’t demand frequent attention.
Care tips
Use a pot with drainage holes and a gritty, fast-draining cactus/succulent soil when repotting. If you place it inside a decorative cover pot, keep the grower’s pot on a small saucer or stones so water cannot collect at the bottom. Rotate the plant occasionally for even growth, and remove any dried lower leaves to keep the rosette tidy. A light feed for succulents once in spring and once in summer is sufficient.
