Plant description

Echeveria ‘Miranda’ is a compact succulent with thick, fleshy leaves arranged in a neat rosette. This is a fresh, live houseplant delivered in a Ø9 cm nursery pot, with an approximate height of 13 cm at the time of shipping. Its clear green, slightly pointed leaves keep their structure well, making it a dependable choice for desks, windowsills, and small shelves where you want greenery without daily upkeep.

Echeverias store water in their leaves. That makes them more forgiving than many common indoor plants, but it also means they prefer to dry out properly between waterings. ‘Miranda’ grows slowly and keeps a tidy silhouette, especially when placed in good light. With the right conditions, the rosette becomes denser over time and can produce offsets around the base.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright light is essential. A south or west-facing window is ideal. A few hours of gentle direct sun is usually beneficial; introduce stronger sunlight gradually to avoid scorch.
  • Watering routine: Water thoroughly, then let the soil dry out completely before watering again. As a guideline, this is often every 2–3 weeks, less in winter. Always remove excess water so the plant never sits in water.
  • Humidity preferences: Low to moderate humidity. Average indoor air is suitable; avoid misting the leaves.
  • Temperature range: Typical indoor temperatures of 18–26°C. Keep above 10°C and protect from cold drafts.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Echeveria ‘Miranda’ (succulent)
  • Mature height: Typically remains compact; size depends on light and pot size
  • Leaf type: Fleshy, pointed leaves in a symmetrical rosette
  • Growth speed: Slow to moderate; may form offsets over time

Placement in the home

Place this succulent where it will receive strong daylight: a bright windowsill, a kitchen window, or a shelf near a sunny window. Good light keeps the rosette tight and prevents stretching. In lower light, Echeveria tends to grow taller and looser as it searches for brightness. If your home has limited natural light, consider the brightest spot available and rotate the pot occasionally for even growth.

Care tips

Choose a pot with drainage when repotting, and use a gritty cactus/succulent mix to reduce the risk of root rot. Water at the soil level and try to keep water out of the rosette. If leaves soften or become translucent, it is often a sign of overwatering; wrinkled lower leaves usually indicate it is time to water. A light feed during spring and summer (succulent fertiliser at reduced strength) supports steady growth, but this plant does well with minimal feeding.
