Plant description
This Combi Deal includes four blooming Phalaenopsis orchids (Kolibri Orchids ‘Congo’), delivered fresh from the grower. Each plant is a compact, flowering indoor orchid with a pot size of Ø9 cm and an approximate height of 30–35 cm. The ‘Congo’ variety is recognised for its many small, warm-toned blooms on multiple stems, making it easy to place on a coffee table, dining table or windowsill without taking up much space.
Phalaenopsis orchids are among the most reliable flowering houseplants for indoor living. They keep their shape, look neat in a minimal interior, and flower for a long period when positioned in bright, indirect light. In the images you can see the plant’s arching flower spikes supported with dark stakes, broad green leaves at the base, and clusters of buds that open gradually—useful if you want colour that lasts rather than a short peak.
Please note that, as with all live plants, small natural variations can occur in flower count and stem number. These orchids are typically supplied with 2–3 sturdy flower spikes depending on availability.

- Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. An east- or north-facing window is ideal; avoid strong midday sun that can scorch leaves.
- Watering routine: Water about once per week. Submerge the nursery pot in lukewarm water for 5–10 minutes, then let it drain completely before placing it back.
- Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity (typical indoor levels are fine). Keep away from very dry air from radiators; occasional misting around (not into) the flowers can help in winter.
- Temperature range: Best at 18–21°C; avoid cold drafts and heat sources.

After watering, always let excess water drain away—standing water is the most common cause of orchid problems. Remove spent flowers as they fade; when a spike finishes flowering, you can trim it back above a visible node or cut it lower to encourage the plant to focus on new growth. Wipe dust from the leaves with a soft, slightly damp cloth to support photosynthesis and keep the plant looking fresh.
