Phalaenopsis, Rhipsalis Set – Pink, Green

Regular price €76,99

Plant description

This indoor plant arrangement combines three pink Phalaenopsis orchids (Andorra, 9 cm pots) with three Rhipsalis green plants (6 cm pots), set into a natural reed basket with a discreet built-in water reservoir. The composition is delivered as a ready-to-place bowl arrangement with water wicks that draw moisture from the reservoir, reducing how often you need to lift plants out for watering. Approximate height at delivery: 35 cm.

In the image, the orchids show soft pink blooms with warm yellow centres, supported by dark stakes for an upright, clean silhouette. The Rhipsalis adds a calm, sculptural texture at the base with fine, trailing, cactus-like stems. The basket’s woven reed surface gives a warm, natural tone that works well with light woods, stoneware and muted textiles typical of Scandinavian interiors.

Because these are living plants, small natural variations in flower count, bud stage and plant shape can occur. This is normal for fresh-grown orchids and greens.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal for Phalaenopsis and Rhipsalis. Avoid strong midday sun, especially through south-facing windows, which can scorch leaves and fade flowers.
  • Watering routine: Keep the reservoir topped up as needed so the wicks can supply steady moisture. As a general guide, check weekly and refill when low; orchids prefer to dry slightly between waterings, never sitting with roots fully submerged. Use lukewarm water if possible.
  • Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity (around 40–60%) suits both orchids and Rhipsalis. In very dry homes, occasional light misting around (not into) the orchid flowers can help, or place the arrangement away from direct radiator heat.
  • Temperature range: Typical indoor temperatures of 18–26°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below ~15°C.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Phalaenopsis orchid (Andorra) with Rhipsalis greens; arrangement may include a small air plant (Tillandsia) as decorative accent.
  • Mature height: Phalaenopsis flower spikes commonly reach 40–60 cm over time; Rhipsalis may trail further as it grows.
  • Leaf or flower type: Long-lasting orchid blooms with broad, glossy green leaves; Rhipsalis has slender, branching succulent stems for texture and volume.
  • Growth speed: Orchids grow slowly and flower in cycles; Rhipsalis grows steadily during brighter months.

Placement in the home

Place the bowl arrangement where you want colour without clutter: on a dining table, kitchen island, hallway console or a sideboard in the living room. A position near an east- or west-facing window is often ideal—bright enough for flowering, but protected from harsh sun. It also suits offices and bedrooms where consistent, low-effort care is appreciated.

Care tips

How the reservoir helps: The water wicks provide a more even supply of moisture, which is useful if you prefer a set-and-check routine rather than frequent watering. Still, it’s worth checking the reservoir level regularly—especially in warm rooms.

After flowering: When blooms fade, keep the plant in the arrangement. With stable light and careful watering, Phalaenopsis often re-blooms. Remove spent flowers, and only trim the spike if it turns brown and dry.

General upkeep: Wipe orchid leaves gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and help the plant photosynthesise efficiently. Rotate the basket occasionally so growth stays balanced.
