Kolibri Orchids – Surprise Box Mix includes two different Phalaenopsis (moth) orchids, delivered fresh from the grower in Ø9 cm nursery pots. Each plant is selected for healthy foliage and well-developed flower spikes, so you receive a ready-to-display pair without having to choose a variety yourself. A decorative outer pot is not included.

Phalaenopsis orchids are valued for their calm, structured look: arching stems, glossy green leaves, and long-lasting blooms. In this surprise mix, you can expect a refined colour palette (commonly white and pink tones) that sits naturally in Scandinavian interiors—clean lines, light surfaces, and quiet contrasts.

Because orchids are living products, the exact bloom stage will vary. Depending on current availability, each plant is supplied with 3–4 sturdy branches (flower spikes). Some stems may carry open flowers while others may arrive with buds that continue to develop at home.

Plant care

• Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. An east- or north-facing window is ideal; avoid strong midday sun on the leaves and flowers.
• Watering routine: Water sparingly when the potting medium feels nearly dry (typically every 7–10 days). Use lukewarm water and allow excess to drain fully—do not let the inner pot stand in water.
• Humidity preferences: Average indoor humidity is usually fine. If your home is very dry in winter, place the plant on a tray with pebbles and water (pot above the waterline) or group plants together.
• Temperature range: Comfortable room temperatures, approx. 18–26°C. Keep away from cold draughts and heat sources such as radiators.

After flowering, you can keep the spike for possible re-blooming or trim it back depending on the plant’s condition. Wipe leaves gently with a soft cloth to keep them dust-free and able to photosynthesise efficiently.
