Phalaenopsis Orchid – White, Ceramic
Plant description
Kolibri Orchids Nazaré is a compact white Phalaenopsis orchid (moth orchid) delivered as a flowering indoor plant in a Ø9 cm ceramic pot. With an approximate height of 25 cm, it is sized for smaller surfaces where you still want a generous flowering look—ideal for a kitchen table, desk, or shelf without blocking sight lines.
The plant carries multiple fine, creamy-white blooms with soft yellow centres, set above sturdy, glossy green leaves. The ceramic cover pot has a calm, warm-toned base with a delicate botanical print and discreet Kolibri Orchids branding—an easy match for Scandinavian interiors where texture and detail matter more than contrast.
Plant care
- Light requirements: Bright, indirect light. A few hours of gentle morning or late-afternoon sun is fine; avoid strong midday sun on the flowers and leaves.
- Watering routine: Water when the bark feels almost dry and the pot feels light—typically every 7–10 days (less in winter). Prefer soaking the inner pot for 5–10 minutes, then let it drain fully. Do not leave water in the bottom of the cover pot.
- Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity (around 40–60%). If the air is very dry, place it near other plants or use a pebble tray; avoid misting the flowers.
- Temperature range: 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts, hot radiators, and fruit bowls (ripening fruit can shorten bloom life).
Growth and characteristics
- Plant species: Phalaenopsis (moth orchid)
- Approx. size at delivery: Around 25 cm tall; pot size Ø9 cm
- Leaf / flower type: Thick, dark green leaves with long-lasting white blooms carried on branching stems
- Growth habit: Slow-growing, compact houseplant; typically flowers for weeks with stable indoor conditions
Placement in the home
Place Nazaré where you spend time and can enjoy the flowers up close: on a dining table, kitchen island, bedside table, or a hallway console with good daylight. A position near an east- or north-facing window is often ideal. If placed further from a window, choose the brightest spot available and rotate the pot occasionally for even growth.
Care tips
Orchids are often lost to overwatering rather than underwatering. Let excess water drain completely after soaking, and keep the crown (where leaves meet) dry to prevent rot. If you want to encourage a new flowering stem after blooming, keep the plant in bright indirect light, feed lightly with orchid fertiliser once a month in the growing season, and avoid repotting while it is in full flower. If roots start to outgrow the inner pot, repot into fresh orchid bark after flowering.
