Monstera Deliciosa – Green, Natural Basket
Monstera deliciosa (often called the Swiss cheese plant) is a classic indoor plant with large, glossy green leaves that develop natural splits as they mature. This plant is delivered at an approximate height of 60 cm in a Ø21 cm nursery pot, placed inside a natural woven basket for an easy, finished look from day one. The basket adds warm texture and helps the plant sit comfortably in calm, Scandinavian interiors.
In the image, the plant has a full, upright shape with multiple stems and a mix of younger heart-shaped leaves and more mature, fenestrated foliage. Monstera is a reliable choice if you want visible greenery with a straightforward care routine. It is also a practical option for homes where you want a larger-leaf plant without the demands of flowering varieties.
Plant care
- Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates medium light, but growth will be slower and leaves may split less. Avoid harsh, direct midday sun.
- Watering routine: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain. Do not leave the inner pot standing in water.
- Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity suits it well. If your home is very dry (especially in winter), occasional misting or a nearby humidifier can help keep leaf edges tidy.
- Temperature range: Normal indoor temperatures 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below ~15°C.
Growth and characteristics
- Plant species: Monstera deliciosa
- Approx. size at delivery: ↕60 cm, pot size Ø21 cm

- Growth speed: Moderate to fast in spring and summer with good light and regular watering
Placement in the home
Place your Monstera a little back from a bright window where the light is filtered—ideal for a living room corner, beside a sofa, or near a dining area with daytime light. It also works well in a home office where you want greenery without daily attention. The natural basket softens the look on open shelves, low benches, or on the floor next to a sideboard, adding texture without adding visual noise.
Care tips
Rotate the plant every couple of weeks for even growth and a balanced shape. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and keep the surface glossy—this also helps the plant use available light more efficiently. Feed monthly during the growing season (spring to early autumn) with a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength. If roots begin to circle tightly inside the nursery pot, repot one size up in a well-draining mix (a blend suited for aroids, with added bark or perlite, works well).
