Monstera Deliciosa Tauerii – Green Plant

Plant description

Monstera deliciosa ‘Tauerii’ is a compact, young Monstera with fresh green, heart-shaped leaves and an upright, clustered growth habit. Delivered in a Ø12 cm nursery pot with an approximate height of 30 cm, it’s an easy way to add calm greenery to shelves, window areas, and smaller rooms without needing a large floor plant from day one.

This early-stage Monstera shows smooth, full leaves that gradually develop the characteristic splits as the plant matures and receives good light. The stems are sturdy and the foliage sits slightly layered, giving the plant a full look even at a modest size—useful if you want a neat, controlled plant that still has the recognisable Monstera character.

Plant care

  • Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates medium light, but growth will slow and leaves stay smaller. Avoid harsh midday sun.
  • Watering routine: Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil feels dry. Let excess water drain fully; do not leave the pot standing in water.
  • Humidity preferences: Average home humidity is fine. For smoother leaf growth, aim for moderate humidity; misting is optional.
  • Temperature range: 18–26°C is optimal. Keep away from cold draughts and temperatures below ~15°C.

Growth and characteristics

  • Plant species: Monstera deliciosa ‘Tauerii’
  • Mature height: Can grow significantly larger over time indoors, especially with support and good light.
  • Leaf type: Glossy green, heart-shaped juvenile leaves that may develop splits as the plant matures.
  • Growth speed: Moderate during spring and summer when light is sufficient.

Placement in the home

Place your Monstera ‘Tauerii’ near an east- or west-facing window with filtered light, or a little back from a bright south-facing window. Its compact size suits a desk, bedside table, kitchen shelf, or a living room sideboard. If you prefer a fuller look, rotate the pot every week or two so the plant grows evenly toward the light.

Care tips

Use a well-draining houseplant mix and a pot with drainage holes when repotting. Feed lightly during the growing season (spring–summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. Wipe leaves with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and keep the surface able to photosynthesise efficiently. If roots begin to circle the pot or watering becomes difficult to manage, move up one pot size rather than a large jump.
