Plant description

This set pairs two well-known indoor plants: Strelitzia nicolai (White Bird of Paradise) at approximately 85 cm in a Ø19 cm nursery pot, and Monstera deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant) at approximately 75 cm in a Ø21 cm nursery pot. Together they bring structured, tropical greenery with two distinct leaf shapes—Strelitzia’s upright, paddle-like leaves and Monstera’s broad, naturally split foliage. Both are reliable houseplants for bright interiors and grow steadily with simple, consistent care.

The Strelitzia grows with a vertical habit and long stems that create height without looking heavy. Monstera adds volume and softer movement, with glossy leaves that develop deeper fenestrations (splits and holes) as the plant matures. This combination is practical if you want a cohesive green corner without having to match plants yourself—two different silhouettes, similar care needs, and a calm, natural look.

• Light requirements: Bright, indirect light is ideal for both plants. They can handle a little gentle morning or evening sun, but avoid harsh midday sun close to the glass.
• Watering routine: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist in the growing season, but never waterlog. In winter, water less often and let the soil dry a bit more between waterings.
• Humidity preferences: Moderate humidity is sufficient; slightly higher humidity supports larger, healthier leaves—especially for Monstera. Occasional misting or placing the pot on a pebble tray can help in dry homes.
• Temperature range: Typical indoor temperatures of 18–26°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Care tips

Use a pot with drainage holes or place the nursery pot inside a decorative cachepot and empty excess water after watering. Wipe leaves occasionally with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and support photosynthesis. Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during the growing season (about twice per month); reduce feeding in winter. If you notice Strelitzia leaves splitting, it’s normal—this is part of the plant’s natural structure.
